Our History
John G. Horeth, the founder of Dynamic Fluid Products Inc., was born and raised in the Tillsonburg area. He is a former employee of a hydraulic and pneumatic cylinder manufacturer in South-western Ontario. After familiarizing himself with the industry, he decided to form his own company in 1987. DFP began as a sole proprietorship specializing in the fluid power industry.
Over time, DFP established a strong reputation as a stocking distributor for Parker Brass, Nopak Fluid Products, Snowden Rubber and Dixon Valve. Later, the company expanded to include Parker Fluid Connectors, Parker Quick Couplings, Parker Tube Fittings and Parker Fluid Power Products.
DFP found a niche as a developer of hydraulic and pneumatic systems for industry, and more recently, as an authorized distributor of Parker Products.
DFP's customers generally are industrial facilities that utilize automated equipment. A significant portion of our business involves installation and repairs, which includes 24-hour servicing. DFP also deals with both automotive and food service industries in the area. DFP has always been proud to assist our customers with solving their fluid power needs. Demand for DFP's services increased and our employees have always worked hard to meet the demand.
By 1990, DFP outgrew its first location and took the plunge, moving to the larger Spruce Street location in Tillsonburg. Business steadily grew at their sublet offices, so much so that the 1,200 square foot unit was expanded to 7,000 square feet. The larger space accommodated a 3,000 square foot stock room and a 3,000 square foot manufacturing and repair facility.
The convenience of the Tillsonburg location, together with the variety and service we provide keeps our customers coming back for more diversified products.
DFP was incorporated as of November 1, 1991. At that time we employed eleven full-time staff, including four licensed millwrights and one apprentice, in two locations, Tillsonburg and Stratford. Our customers were pleased that Parker-Hannifin products were available in both locations; a local distributor reduced wait times and provided easy access to technical expertise. DFP specialized in hydraulics and pneumatics, which gained the company market share within the industry. The company strongly supported Parker products, well known in the industry for nine of the past eleven years.
Dynamic Fluid Products was never afraid to change with the economy and business conditions. "Bigger is not always better" said John G. Horeth, President. DFP was determined to stay small enough to provide the premier service people in this area were used to. Our excellent customer service has always been the key to our company's success.

In February of 1998, Parker approached DFP about a new marketing strategy, The Parker Store. Parker's new strategy was to have more of their products displayed on shelves accessible to customers, making it easier to find the right products for any fluid power application. In order to accommodate this concept, DFP moved to its present location on Cedar Street. The new retail style with increased inventory levels has been beneficial for our customers and our service team to assist our customers in a timely manner.
By 1999 DFP had already grown enough to require more space. A 3,000 square foot addition was built onto the original 5,000 square foot building. The extra space was used for increases in manufacturing of hydraulic power units, extruded aluminium products and general repairs.
DFP has continued successfully as a Parker Store. The company's goal, as always, is to provide customer friendly service. DFP currently employs 23 people, including management, sales, service, certified fluid power technicians, and office personnel. We all work together to help our customers.
The majority of Dynamic Fluid Products' customers are based in South-western Ontario. We have the capability to deliver but we also enjoy interacting face to face with all of our local customers.
Please come in and see us and we would be proud to serve all of your fluid power needs.
